Where the light shines dim all around you

...In the sixties we had psychedelic music. One of the most highly regarded bands of that era and one of my favorites is 'Love'. If you don't know about them, you better ask somebody! Or better yet, scope some videos:

Love - Little Red Book

Here's a higher quality version, for those of you that are peaking:

And because I have to post a song from their acclaimed album 'Forever Changes' - Here is 'A House is Not A Motel'

And that my friends, is psychedelic music at its finest. What genre shall we tackle next?

I'm back you sons 'a bitches!

It's been a long time. I guess that happens when you get a big-boy job. I actually had day-time responsibilities and didn't care to think about a blog when I was away from work. How could I neglect all 3 of my readers though! For shame! Seriously though, if you're reading this I appreciate it! I hope that you enjoy my taste in music and maybe one day one of these songs will change your mood. That'd be good.

Here's what I have been listening to lately. Something about this song makes me feel relaxed and really happy. It's like listening to an old memory...a good one of course!

Stepping outside she is free

I'm not feeling "it" today. I'm sick. Still.
I can go for some laid back music. Here's a great Beatles (McCartney) song done by two of my favorite singers; Harry Nilsson and Esther Ofarim. You have probably heard of Nilsson, if not look him up for God's sake, but most have not heard of Israeli sing Esther Ofarim. Not only is she a fox but she can blow! She has amazing pipes but more so she is able to feel the lyrics and bring emotion into each performance. I had once posted her version of Randy Newman's 'In Germany Before the War' which shows her great emotion and interpretation. Here she is followed by Nilsson performing She's Leaving Home:

You've got me sewed up like a pillow case

It's been a long week but it's Friday and we can put ourselves in neutral for a bit. Relax and have a good weekend. Here's Link wray to help you get where you're going...

Now I've been smiling lately, thinking about the good things to come

I'm sitting at my cube thinking about the weekend. I still have things to unpack. I also have to clean, mow the lawn and tonight I play a show with my new band. Oh and it's the 4th of July on Sunday! Maybe my wife and I will break down and buy a grill and cook some meat in honor of America!
I'm trying to think of an appropriate song to post for the holiday weekend. Cat Stevens wrote a song called Peace Train. It's a great song with a good message. I found an amazing performance to show you and I couldn't think of a better time to post it. Have a peaceful Fourth of July!

and the world would be a better place if we were all fans of Hitchcock.

Now it's gonna feel good just to get back home

You said it Terry. It is going to feel good to get home!

I was a willow last night in my dream

It's the weekend. Almost. I guess the weekend doesn't start until we get out of work today. Well, if that's the case I'm going to help you get there faster. How about Heart tearing through a version of Crazy on You? I mean, like they blew every Midnight Special performance away with this one! This song will set a good pace for the weekend. Plus Ann Wilson is a fox!! Big time! ...and man, she can sing.
